About the role
Our founder and President, Ron Smith, leads the sales conversations and closes new clients. Everything around the sale is yours. You build the pipeline, open and qualify the conversations, run the follow-up, and grow the accounts we already serve, so new clients and new job orders keep coming in. It’s a role for someone who loves starting relationships and keeping them going, with a founder who closes alongside them.
What you’ll do
- Prospect tech and SaaS companies, from startups to enterprises, for our direct hire, contract-to-hire, staff augmentation and nearshore services: research the accounts, find the hiring leaders and open the conversation.
- Cold call, text and email every day, with follow-up that is persistent and personal.
- Qualify, set and confirm every meeting before it reaches Ron’s calendar (the roles, the timeline, the budget and who decides), so his week stays full of real hiring conversations.
- Own the steps before and after each sale: account research before the call, follow-up after it, and keeping every opportunity moving until it closes.
- Grow the accounts we already serve: meet more hiring managers, uncover new roles and turn one search into many.
- Own our networking calendar: pick the events, represent TekRecruiter in the room and turn introductions into meetings.
- Help with marketing that feeds the pipeline.
How we split the work
You and Ron work as one team, with a clear line between the two jobs:
Ron leads the sale
He runs the hiring conversations and closes new clients. You bring him qualified meetings, and he turns them into partnerships.
You own everything around it
Prospecting, meeting setting, follow-up, networking and account growth are yours, from the first touch to the next job order.
What you bring
- Experience in business development, sales development or account management, ideally at a staffing or recruiting firm or selling to technology companies.
- You like the phone. Cold calling is a daily habit, not a chore.
- You walk into a room of strangers and leave with meetings on the calendar.
- Disciplined follow-up. Nothing falls through the cracks.
- HEART: high agency, execution, accountability, resourcefulness and transparency.
- Able to work hybrid from our Miami office.
Nice to have
- Relationships with technology hiring leaders in Miami and South Florida.
- A working knowledge of technology roles, from software engineers to technology leaders.
Compensation
$250,000 on-target earnings (OTE) a year: a $50,000 base salary, commission and bonuses, plus 100% employer-paid health care, a 401(k) match, equity and paid vacation.
