Hire MuleSoft developers who connect Salesforce to everything else.
TekRecruiter is a MuleSoft recruiting agency focused solely on technology and engineering roles at tech and SaaS companies. We’re a certified Salesforce partner, and we screen on the system, process and experience APIs candidates designed and the DataWeave they wrote, so you hire someone whose integrations fail safely when the ERP or billing system goes down. A MuleSoft search, start to finish.
A client’s service cycle was hurting customer retention, and the fix was a Service Cloud and MuleSoft integration project. Before it could be approved, the client needed to know what the talent would cost and whether it existed. We scoped the Salesforce and MuleSoft talent pool, its cost and aptitude, then filled the roles.
To four vetted developers
Four Salesforce developers with MuleSoft experience identified, screened, technically assessed and presented.
Interviews
The client interviewed from a short list, not a stack of résumés.
12-month contract-to-hire
Stack: Service Cloud, Lightning and LWC, MuleSoft, Java and AWS.
The MuleSoft talent we place.
MuleSoft developers
Anypoint Studio, DataWeave and connectors: building and maintaining the APIs and flows between systems.
MuleSoft and integration architects
API-led connectivity, reusable system and process APIs, security and governance across the integration layer.
Salesforce + MuleSoft developers
The combination most Salesforce programs need: Apex and LWC on the org, MuleSoft to the ERP, finance and data systems.
Anypoint platform engineers
CloudHub and Runtime Fabric deployment, API Manager policies, monitoring and CI/CD for Mule applications.
Who our MuleSoft searches are built for.
- Salesforce programs that depend on data from ERP, billing or legacy systems.
- Companies replacing point-to-point integrations with a reusable API layer.
- Projects that need integration talent scoped and priced before they can be approved.
- A fully outsourced integration build. Our developers work under your management.
- A generic Java developer relabeled. We screen for MuleSoft work shipped to production.
- Warehouse ETL and analytics pipelines. Those are data engineering searches.
Why MuleSoft searches go wrong.
Integration work is invisible until it breaks, and so is a weak integration hire. These are the misses we hear about most.
- 01
A Java developer relabeled.
Mule runs on Java, but DataWeave, API-led design and Anypoint are their own craft.
- 02
Point-to-point with a MuleSoft logo.
Flows wired system to system, with no reusable API layer behind them.
- 03
No plan for failure.
No retries, idempotency or alerting, so one downstream outage stalls the whole program.
- 04
Two hires where one would do.
Salesforce and MuleSoft staffed separately when the program needed a developer fluent in both.
- MuleSoft-skilled developers presented, one Service Cloud program
- 4 in 3 days
- Hired on 12-month contract-to-hire

Integration work is invisible until it breaks.
MuleSoft résumés list connectors. We ask candidates to walk us through an integration they built: which systems it connected, how the APIs were layered, how errors and retries worked, and what happened when a downstream system went down. Every developer we present also meets our HEART standard.
- API design: system, process and experience layers, and why they split them that way.
- DataWeave depth: real transformations between Salesforce, ERP and data systems.
- Failure handling: error flows, retries, idempotency and monitoring in production.
- Salesforce context: for combined roles, the org side of the integration as well as the Mule side.

The HEART standard
What we look for beyond skills and experience, in every candidate we present.
- High agencyPeople who see what needs to be done and act without waiting to be told.
- ExecutionPeople who turn ideas into results.
- AccountabilityPeople who own the outcome, not just their piece of the work.
- ResourcefulnessPeople who figure things out when the answer isn’t obvious.
- TransparencyPeople who communicate clearly, honestly, and early.
Which MuleSoft profile do you need?
Four skill sets sit under "MuleSoft." Most Salesforce programs need the combined developer; most API programs need an architect first.
| MuleSoft developer | Integration architect | Salesforce + MuleSoft developer | Anypoint platform engineer | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What they do | Build and maintain Mule APIs and flows | Design the API layer and its standards | Build on the Salesforce org and integrate it | Deploy, secure and monitor Mule applications |
| Core skills | Anypoint Studio, DataWeave, connectors, RAML/OAS | API-led connectivity, governance, security, reuse | Apex, LWC, Salesforce APIs, MuleSoft | CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, API Manager, CI/CD |
| What we screen | Integrations shipped and how they fail safely | API portfolios they designed and how teams reused them | Both sides of one integration, end to end | Environments they ran and how releases worked |
| Typical engagement | Contract or contract-to-hire | Contract for the design phase, or direct hire | Contract-to-hire or direct hire | Contract or direct hire |
| Best for | Adding integration capacity | Starting or cleaning up an API program | Service, Sales or Commerce Cloud programs | Teams running many Mule applications |

MuleSoft hiring questions, answered.
How fast can you find MuleSoft developers?
For one Service Cloud and MuleSoft program, TekRecruiter identified, screened, technically assessed and presented four Salesforce developers with MuleSoft experience within three days; after five interviews the client hired two on 12-month contract-to-hire. Read the case study.
What is the difference between a MuleSoft developer and a MuleSoft architect?
A MuleSoft developer builds and maintains the APIs and flows: Anypoint Studio, DataWeave and connectors. A MuleSoft architect designs the integration layer: how APIs are split into system, process and experience layers, the standards teams follow, security and reuse. Most new API programs need an architect first and developers after.
Do we need a MuleSoft developer or a Salesforce developer?
If the work lives on the Salesforce org, a Salesforce developer. If it moves data between Salesforce and other systems, a MuleSoft developer. Many Salesforce programs need both in one person, and that combination is what we delivered for our Service Cloud client. See Salesforce recruiting.
Are you a MuleSoft partner?
MuleSoft is a Salesforce company, and TekRecruiter is a certified Salesforce partner. Our founder, Ron Smith, is a Salesforce Certified Platform Developer.
Can you help us scope a MuleSoft project before it is approved?
Yes. For our Service Cloud client, we scoped the Salesforce and MuleSoft talent pool, its cost and its aptitude so the client could get the project approved, then filled the roles once it was.
Can we hire MuleSoft developers nearshore?
Yes. We place English-fluent integration and Salesforce developers in Latin America who work US hours, at about 50% lower cost than US hires. See nearshore engineering.
What is the HEART standard?
HEART is the standard we screen every candidate against, beyond skills: high agency, execution, accountability, resourcefulness and transparency. It describes people who take ownership, turn ideas into results and move the business forward. See the standard.
