ADT provides electronic security, fire protection and alarm monitoring services to homes and small businesses in the United States. The company was founded in 1874 and is headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida.
Salesforce is one of the core platforms ADT’s software teams build on. TekRecruiter works with Greg Snyder, ADT’s Senior Director of Software Engineering, on the company’s Salesforce developer roles.
A Salesforce org built over decades
ADT has operated for more than 150 years and has acquired many companies along the way. Each acquisition brought its own customers, data and systems.
The result is a Salesforce org with a great deal of data, many integrations and a lot of complexity. A developer who joins it has to understand how existing features and integrations depend on each other before changing anything, so the team hires developers who have already worked in orgs of this size.
Software engineers first, Salesforce experts second
Almost every Salesforce developer holds a certification, so certifications do little to separate candidates. What is rare is a developer who is a strong software engineer first and a Salesforce expert second.
ADT needs developers who solve hard problems in code and know when a custom build is the right answer and when a standard Salesforce feature will do the job better. Salesforce ships three major releases a year, so they also have to keep up as the platform changes.
The pace adds one more requirement. ADT is an enterprise, but its Salesforce teams move like a startup. Developers take requirements directly from stakeholders and deliver on them without a long chain of handoffs.
The full range of Salesforce skills
The roles TekRecruiter has filled at ADT cover most of the Salesforce stack. They include developers with strong Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC) experience, engineers who have built on Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, and specialists in Marketing Cloud and CPQ, where TekRecruiter has placed a number of developers.
Each of those is its own specialty. Apex is Salesforce’s server-side language for business logic and integrations, LWC is its framework for user interfaces, and CPQ runs the configure, price and quote process behind complex offers. Strength in one does not carry over to the others, so each role is screened for the parts of the platform it touches.
10 developers in 2025, 4 more in 2026
TekRecruiter placed 10 Salesforce developers with ADT in 2025 and 4 more in 2026. All 14 started on contract-to-hire terms.
Contract-to-hire lets a team bring a developer on quickly and start the work right away. The developer joins as a TekRecruiter W-2 employee with health coverage and PTO and contributes on real projects from the first weeks. When the fit is right, ADT can convert the developer to a full-time employee.
Speed is part of why the model works for ADT. Candidates are typically in front of the team in about 3 days. TekRecruiter vets every contract-to-hire consultant as it would a direct hire, and across all its clients 98% of those consultants convert to full time.
ADT works with many staffing agencies, and its teams keep coming back to TekRecruiter for Salesforce roles because it knows what this kind of engineer looks like and has shown it can find them.
Part of a 5-year relationship with ADT
The Salesforce work is one of several programs at ADT. TekRecruiter has worked with the company for more than 5 years and fills roles for many of its teams, including all five engineering roles that Bob Franklin, a Director of IT, has opened in that time. That story is told in How ADT’s IT team filled every engineering opening for 5 years with one partner.
